Our Team

AdamAdam: Head of Training and Production.  Adam Kirtley is the founder and managing director of Hand Made Media.  He is a journalist and presenter and has story telling in his DNA.  His long-held ambition for a career in broadcasting was realised after landing a coveted job at the BBC.  Thirty-something years later Adam remains a BBC presenter with a huge track record presenting flagship programmes such as The Financial World Tonight, Wake Up to Money and You and Yours on national BBC Radio.  He also presents and reports for BBC Local Radio.  He has flipped burgers for a food programme, dug peat and made a full documentary about folk band legends Fairport Convention, to name a tiny few.

Adam also loves training and consultancy which is why he started the company back in 1994 since when he has travelled the world training executives in media and presentation skills, and consulting at international conferences.  You can see examples of his clients by clicking the client tab above.

Adam brings his wit and ear for impressions to both his broadcasting and training.  His favourite trick is ‘playing his teeth’ and he once appeared in a radio play as a Russian man.  His Margaret Thatcher impression is beyond compare!  Click the screen for more about Adam.

MartinAMartin: Associate Director.  Martin has joined us in the last year to help broaden our “crisis” training offer.  With twelve plus years’ experience as a busy stress and trauma consultant, Martin has responded to more than 400 incidents across Europe and the world for a wide range of organisations.  He provides direct psychological support, develops Crisis Response Plans and trains organisations to prepare for and manage incidents.  He used to manage a multi-disciplinary mental health team and a local authority disaster response team.

Martin is a keen amateur dramatics actor and can often be seen treading the boards to audiences in his local theatre. Like Adam he also keeps hens!

Jill: Video Journalist and Editor.  Jill is our main Video Journalist and Editor.  Her journalistic experience and artistic eye are invaluable in creating sparky, creative and ‘to the point’ films.  Jill has 20 years’ experience of working in BBC newsrooms across the UK as both a journalist and video editor.  Away from work Jill gets stuck in to her allotment and completed the Paris Marathon to celebrate her 40th birthday. She also makes a rather good beetroot cordial!  All very healthy!

We also have a wide range of other experts who we call upon to ensure our clients always get the right people for their requirements.
